This is a standalone chassis that can be used under existing vehicle bodies. There are two versions: Road & Rail for operating on track and road and Standard which is road based only (i.e. no rail wheels). The chassis are each available in motorized (all electronics included) and non-motorized (for static displays and InvisaTrax® compatible).
The Road & Rail Chassis is the same chassis utilized by the InvisaTrax® Road & Rail Track Inspection Vehicle. Click here for more details.
The motorized versions of the chassis comes with a small hand held remote control, 3.7v rechargeable lithium ion battery, RC receiver, and an N20 dual axle motor running at 15 RPM. They are capable of moving forwards and backwards.
The Road & Rail version comes with rail wheels that can be raised and lowered, allowing the vehicle to switch between road and rail operation. The Standard version comes without the rail wheels.
Both chassis have been designed to allow the end-user to tinker and install their own electronics. Perfect for those who wish to convert the vehicle to DCC control. And both versions of the chassis are equipped with an adjustable wheelbase to accommodate various body lengths.
NOTE: The chassis can successfully operate on various track types on straight and curved sections (as seen below in the videos). However, due to various sizes and spacing, successful navigation through turn-outs is not guaranteed. Slight modifications may need to be made to the rail wheel mounting to accommodate your specific layout, i.e. not pushing them all the way on to the axle.
These chassis are being sold as a kit to be assembled by the end-user. It is a very detailed kit and soldering will be required to hook-up the electronics and the motor.
STL/3MF files will also be available for those who want to 3D print the vehicle themselves. The file usage is governed by the Standard Digital File License as follows: the user shall not share, sub-license, sell, rent, host, transfer, or distribute in any way the digital or 3D printed versions of this object, nor any other derivative work of this object in its digital or physical format (including - but not limited to - remixes of this object, and hosting on other digital platforms).
